Sleeps" embodies the spirit of punk music and the embrace of the new at the expense of the old. Much as the who sang
"Hope I die before I get old", much as young is saying that he would rather "burn out than fade away",
the group Devo came up with the slogan. Blackburn, a band that opened for the legendary California bar tour, wrote a song
containing the key lyric "It's better to burn out than it is to rust." That is Blight.
What is sound?
Relatively short lived musical genres that had a much greater impact than their sales, radio play, and concert performances
would indicate. A sneak attack on entropy, Captain John Smith still seems to ask today: "would Pocahontas skateboard
for 1000 pelts?" We'd have to discourage pelting tribal peoples, even with snowballs, as that would be what our lawyers
would have us say or not say. Regarding the decline of
traditional farming (possibly presaging his interest in farm Aid?)as
well as artistic decline, the band urges you to listen to their music while skateboarding, if only in your mind. The band
does not in no way support skateboarding, as skateboarding is a crime. Also a crime is not owning this album.
